the floors are white oak. i don't know the exact color of the stain-reddish brown.

a wood putty just get the same color or if you cannot get the same color ,get red stain in home depot

You could buy wood putty and match the color as closely as you can. Also, buy stain that matches the floor. Fill the scratches with the putty. Let dry. Apply the stain to a soft cloth. I usually just dip it into the can. Then, rub it into the putty and go back and forth around the area of the repair. Wipe up any excess.

If that doesn't work, then I recommend refinishing the whole floor.

The best answer for this is to sand and restain the floors. Especially if you have deep scratches. redish brown stain could be cherry or maple or mahogany. best just to refinish entire floor.

use brown shoe polish and wipe it off after 1 to 2 minutes.
