We have a house that has been given to us but is in a bad state of disrepair. Structurally its fair but the roof is going to need professional tlc. We are prepared to gut the majority of the house and bring it back to its former glory ourselves but have no clue about what to expect from roofers. Should we expect to have to pay for a quote? What kind of contract or guarantee should we expect? What kind of costs are involved for a partial new roof versus an entire new roof etc. Are there any good information websites to help us with our research that you can point us to?

We are fairly new to this whole thing and would prefer to not be ripped off or get shoddy work done. Plus being inexperienced we don't know if there are any pitfalls that people have faced that we haven't considered. Any suggestions or testimonials are most welcome. thanks

I have had mine for a while with lots of cutting and I think it isn't healing up as well as it used to. Its messing up my cuts even with new blades. Is there a way to restore it so that it will take my cuts better again or do I have to get a new one?

I am new to gardening. I ordered some bulbs, planted some annuals and seeds, and there were other things growing when we bought the house. Now I can't remember which is what and don't know the names of all of them-and am wondering if any are weeds or wildflowers that should be removed. Is there any website that can help? Or, well I took pictures of some of those in question, anyone wanna take a stab at it?

I recently dropped my keys through the crack between the elevator and the floor. I dropped it at the ground floor. I'm wondering how to stop the elevator on the second floor and open the first floor door and pick them up. I'm low on cash and the man that knows how to open it will charge me $700. I need help please.

Thank you.

I am not a natural gardener, unfortunately, but I have taken an interest in having my own little garden. I bought some flowers to have in a pot( one of those ones you can hang from a window ledge or a porch) but they are dying and I don't know what to do. I am watering them everyday to every other day. Is that too much, or maybe too little. It's been really hot here, in the 80's and 90's. Could that be a reason? I need some advice on how to keep flowers from dying.

I have a severe neck/spinal injury.Recently we purchased a pool for the physical benefits. It is SO cold it's really counterproductive. Can these so called "solar panels" or the solar fish additive be useful and if so how much?

Mine just seems to be up just a little high and it makes it hard to light. It's like it's blowing itself out. (for reference, I had no idea what catagory to put this in)

Okay so I have a very slow draining tub. I heard that I should use a zip it to pull out the hair and it actually worked pretty well on my sink, so I figured I'd use it in the tub. Here's the problem. I can only get it down about 6 inches, and it seems like the tub drain just STOPS. Where is the drain? Why can't I get it down any further? It's very small and flexible. I don't get it?

we recently moved into a new home that has hardwood floors. I would love to keep the hardwood floors instead of laying down carpet, the person who lived here before said that the old lady who lived here before had cats, and there was poop and pee smells all over the carpet so he removed the carpet, but underneath, there are stains and blackspots all over the place? How do I repair them and if I can't repair them, can I use a darker stainer over the already stained floor, to cover up the spots, or will I have to sand it all down and completely start out fresh?

I bought a new doublewide a few years ago, and one thing that caused me to buy this paticular one was the cabnits. Yes they are cheap partical bord, but they were a really light color, I really liked them. The thing is now I hate them. Everytime grease or my daughters messy hadns touch them, they automatically leave a mark. I've tried dishwashing liquid and things like that, but nothing works. I'm probably going to have to paint them, but I just wanted to know before I did if anyone can think of anything I could use to try to get it off?

The bug in question appears to be some type of June bug. We found it when it fell from the ceiling in our house. It is a light brown with white to tan stripes. It does have wings. We would like to know what it is and what it eats to know if it needs to be worried about. We think it is a type of June bug.
