You are essentially responsible for returning the apartment in the condition in which you got it, minus normal wear and tear. Since a hole in the tub would not be normal wear and tear, you are responsible.

let me get this straight...you BROKE a tub when falling? either you have a butt of steel or there was something wrong with that tub. it had to have been weak or cracked or installed incorrectly for you to actually break it by falling. tell the apt complex they're responsible b/c a tub shouldn't break due to a person falling. just like a floor should support your weight and a door shouldn't come off its hinges when you open it.

Sorry it's your responsibility you damaged the fixture it was not as if the fixture was damaged and caused your fall. There is patch stuff you can use to do it yourself available at a Plumbing supply store by it may look shoddy and you might have to hire out for the repair anyway. Good Luck!

first of all tell the owner if for no different reason than to make confident they understand you probably did no longer do the wear and tear. From what you describe evidently it became into repaired with a fiberglass bath restore kit. I used considered one of those kits myself whilst my son made a hollow in our bath with a dumbbell. (do no longer ask) It held for 4 years until eventually we transformed our bathing room. And no, it did no longer leak whilst having a shower.

You broke it, you should have to fix it, or it will come out of your security deposit. How did you manage to fall hard enough to put a hole in a tub?
