I have a few 100 cotton t shirts i want to shrink, i want to just shrink them a little fit tighter permanently. I am worried that they will stay big, i dont know if i should stick them in cold water, or to wash them regular and stick them in the dryer.

Please help!

It used to be that cotton would shrink 1-2%. Now it doesn't seem to anymore. Sometimes too polyester is mixed with it. Anyway, we used to shrink it by washing it in hot water, and then with the invent of the automatic dryer we would also shrink it in there. If it doesn't shrink after one or two washes I don't believe it will shrink more.

The dryer is the biggest culprit. When I have anything I don't want to shrink I am sure to hang it to dry. Sometimes this leaves your clothes a little stiff and wrinkly, 'though, so when this is the case you can take the dry item and toss into the dryer on air fluff or even low heat for a few minutes, and then it will be as soft as if it had been dried, but without the shrinkage!

If you want it to shrink just a little wash them in warm and in a hot dryer, but if you want it to shrink more wash in hot water and dry on high.

Wash with HOT HOT water. Use the HOTTEST dryer option and this should shrink your shirts. I would test 1 and if this brings your desired results then you have your answer. If not then try washing with the HOT-WARM or HOT-COLD and dry using a lower heat drying option.

Wash in the hottest water possible then toss in the dryer that should take them down 1 full size or more. Good Luck!
