I am looking for a way to fill a few flower boxes fast. I was wondering if its possible to buy cascading pansies or petunias already planted in a hanging planter and transplant them to the flower box?

The area is behind our home and we were going to landscape it but decided that just topping it off with sand for the kids would be so much more fun. We just do not know where to start. There are quite a few ants back there... thanks for any tips!!

the guy in the apartment below me is smoking cigars. I have wall A.C units. The one I don't use much is the one where I think I get some cigar oder through. Is there a way I can use the A.C. fan as an exhaust system and just blow it right back out ? I'm affraid if I use the fan I'll suck the smell in. The only vents I see are the the ones that direct the flow of air inside. It's bad on humid days. Hardley noticable on dry days but i want to see if this works before I complain to him. I doubt he'd do anything anyway.

I have too many plants and they are too close together (poor planning). I have heard about pulling off the suckers and/or pulling some of the tomatoes off so the ones that are left will be bigger and healthier. Any truth? Exactly what is the sucker? Any other hints? I have used Sevin, Miracle Gro Tomato Food, and limestone so far.

I have a wood chair and some wood tables and I want to paint them a certain color to match a room. I am a professional auto painter and would like to spray the finish. I would also like to clear coat afterwards. I have them sanded and primed. What I am looking to do is something like the black laquer look, but not black. I want a paint that will look good when sprayed, not a latex. I can paint them in a booth so I can spary anything. What are my best choices for paint, and where can I find these paints? I went to Home Depot and they didn't have anything there. I tried finding some paint stores around my house, but could only locate Sherwin Williams.

I just turned on my A/C at home for the first time this season. I'm in Northern California and the home is four years old. There is a heat pump outside and furnace in the attic.

When I turned it on today, the fan in the attic worked fine, but the heat pump won't come on. I've checked and reset the circuit breakers, which is the extent of my electrical knowledge.

Should I call an HVAC person, or does it sound like something I can diagnose and repair? Remember that I know very little (read: none) about electricity or HVAC systems.

Would anyone happen to have an idea of what could be used to remove paint smudges from a monument? It is the black paint or substance used to fill in and outline the engravings. The monument is brand new, and was installed just before Memorial Day. Thank you! ~~Mafi

This may sound like a joke question, but it really isn't. I've always wondered why it's usually pink instead of, say blue or green (yes, I know some is kind of fleshtone, but it's almost always pink). Even my uncle who's installed insulation for 35 years hasn't got a clue. It seems like a kind of nancy color choice for a construction material. Anyone know?

How do you pick one? I don't want a real bright green, nor a dark gray green, but here are still at least a hundred to choose from. I'd rather not spend the money on buying multiple samples and I want to get started. The on line color painter systems don't have true colors.Help!
