Flies always head towards light. Open your window and crack the screen and turn on a bright light outside and keep the rest of the room dark. Be careful of letting mosquitos in. If that doesn't work, get out a fly swatter or something to whack them with, turn out all the lights except tv or computer moniter. The bright light will lure them and then SPLAT. Ifyou can't get them tonight, they will head to the window when the sun rises. In the morning, open all curtains, blinds and shades and open window and they will fly out. Just make sure you don't have any food, trash, or crumbs around or you'll have a maggott situation.

Put a baggie full of water outside your window or outside door and it keeps the flies out of the house. They do this where I work and we have no flies inside.

Use a flyswatter. If you don't have one, use a rolled up newspaper. You won't hurt the fly's feelings. It doesn't have enough of a nervous system to have feelings.
