I am looking for a way to fill a few flower boxes fast. I was wondering if its possible to buy cascading pansies or petunias already planted in a hanging planter and transplant them to the flower box?

I would go with the petunias. Pansies don't cascade and they are a cool weather plant. They perform best in spring and fall, but die back in the heat. Yes, it is possible to buy petunias in a hanging basket and transplant them.

pansies are cool weather plants, so that depends on where you live. If you are having a warm summer, forget about pansies. They'll just wither up. Petunias really like the fall and the spring, but if they just get morning sun, they should be very pretty in a hanging planter.
