We have found a fairly large green caterpillar at a friends house. It has yellow spots with black outlining and a yellow horn on its tail end. You can see a picture of it by going to this webpage: http://www.shopinberkeley.com/e/egret/gallery/albums/AntoineRoldan/Green_Caterpillar.jpg

Hello

Actually that would be a moth's larvae specifically a Sphinx Moth Larvae. It is still in it's immature stage's but will transform into a larger uglier caterpillar. It eventully turn's into the Sphinx moth but just feeds and feed's until that day. The moth is not an annoying one to have but what to do with the caterpillar is your call since it won't be a beautiful butterfly or anything like that.

It is a white lined sphinx and it becomes a hawk moth.

i dont know for sure, but caterpillars are not good for your garden and can eat your plants making them prone to disease
