When the paint is completely dry, you might try small pieces of double stick foam tape on some of the shells. That gummy stuff that is made for hanging things on walls might also work. Another technique you may try is to use super glue on the back of a picture hanger- (the ones with a square of canvas fabric) to the back of the shell, then use the hanger part to mount it to the wall. Some seashells actually can be mounted with clear monofilament nylon (fishing line) tied around it to make a loop, then secure the line to prevent it from slipping off the shell with a little super glue or hot glue on the back. A last resort- just hot glue them to the wall.

The best way to not lose your deposit is put up a fishing net of some sort and tie the shells to it. Here you can find lots of nets on the beach especially the large ones off the fishing boats. They are excellent. You can also put a pin hole thru the shell and stick a sewing pin through it and stick it into the wall. That patches pretty easy when you move or change your mind. I saw a small kit of shells and net at WalMart a while back but didn't really look at it. There is also a lamp that you can fill up with whatever but around here they fill them with sea shells. It's a good tropical look. I used to buy panels of material and tack them at the top and bottom of the wall and then tack other things to them. It looks pretty good and adds a lot of color.

I like the idea of hanging them in a net. Or else you could drape the net over the wall and glue the shells to the net. Also (a little off from your question)........I once saw a show where they decorated in a beach theme and they found a miniature adirondack chair and incorporated it into the room. They were actually doing a bathroom and used it on the counter to place a stack of towels on....but maybe you could use the idea in whatever room you are redoing.

Try getting a fisherman's net. You can probably get one at the same store you get seashells at. Tie the shells onto the net and hang the net on the wall with a few nails. Good luck

you could try putting holes in the top of the shells, and putting clear string through them - then hang them from the ceiling, or make a wind-chime looking thing by hanging them at different heights along your wall. You could also hot-glue them to ribbon, and fasten the ribbon to your wall (which might be easier).

Hang a net to hold them, or put up some shelves. I wouldn't super glue them to the wall. If they get knocked off, it would peel the sheetrock.
