Would anyone happen to have an idea of what could be used to remove paint smudges from a monument? It is the black paint or substance used to fill in and outline the engravings. The monument is brand new, and was installed just before Memorial Day. Thank you! ~~Mafi

ps: it came from the manufacturer this way. not something that has happened since its been installed.
pss: it feels like a waxy, oily, or rubbery residue. kinda like gum after it has been smeared.

Get in touch with the people that sold you the monument and tell them they made a mess, get out there and take care of it.

I agree with cowboydoc ! For the kind of money you pay for those headstone monuments, you need some satisfaction / remedy. {:~(

Be careful with solvents, some can do more damage to the stone by liquidizing the offending material and causing it to be absorbed by the stone thus causing an embedded stain very hard to remove!
