My water bill - usually $80 quarterly, has jumped to a $270 quartly bill. It appears to be water leak/running somewhere . Do I call a plumber because the problem is not visually obvious to me and I'm wondering if plumbers have a technique that would search all the water lines, find and solve this problem - is this possible?

My microwave began making a loud noise while operating today, and it also stopped heating. It is a GE, and it is about 7 years old. If possible, I would like to fix it myself, rather than call out an expensive repairman. Any one know about microwaves, that could give me some ideas of what might be wrong?

I am refinishing an oak kitchen table, and I have already applied three coats of polyurethane gloss, (which took much longer to dry than the instructions said). I used no other wood treatment, just sanded and cleaned the top.

The wood seems to be soaking up the polyu, especially in a few pieces of the oak composite tabletop and is leaving a definate wood grain. I want a smooth, durable finish. Is there a limit on coats? Any other suggestions or help?

I'm talking about leaving is running for 2-3 seconds after I turn the water off. I understand that it is designed to run with the water on, but the water isn't essential to lubricate a bearing or anything, right? My wife jumps on my case if I turn the water off first, and says that I'm going to ruin it...
