I used a pyrex to cook some chips in the oven (classy) and there is now a film of burnt on grease. How can I get it off? Have tried soda crystals and washing up liquid.

We have laminate 'wood' floors that got saturated with water not too long ago, but we thought they had dried out. Now we are getting these enormous slugs coming into the kitchen at night, and can't track them down. Are they coming in because we have hidden water damage under the floors? Will we have to replace our flooring? Does this mean we have a bigger problem than we thought? Help!

Whenever I do laundry, after about the 3rd or 4th load in the dryer, it starts this almost constant high pitch squeal. Know what could be causing this?

It's a new room and I am planning to keep all the walls white except for the wall behind my bed. I can't think of any color. It's very important cause this one wall will dictate what color of furniture and accents I should have for my room. I want the room to look sophisticated but fun.My room is very simple. the bed is a queen size which is not a tall bed. It's really low. I am planning to have this corner where i could put an area rug and a low coffee table and have throw pillows as chairs. The floor will probably be wood lamination in very light shade. I am really frustrated on this one wall because everything has to blend well with it.

I usually take my ties to the dry cleaners but I worked out the other day that if I do that 3 times it's cost me more to clean them than I bought them for. How can I wash them at home?

I was just wondering, if I were building a house up in the mountains where there are no sewage drains, how does it usually work? Where would all the waste water go? Thanks!

We have a family headstone that is probably 80 years old or better. The engraving is barely discernable. We want to darken it with something that will bring up the detail without damaging the old marble. Any ideas?

I'm moving so my mom, the forgetful gardener, will be taking care this year.

We typically plant hearty flowers (geraniums and zinias) that are tolerant and wont immediately die if someone forgets to WATER them. I want to move toward a new look with larger, many-petalled blooms-- think dahlias and gerbera daisies.

But the flowers I pick turn out not to be tolerant. Do you have any suggestions for me and my mom?

I'd like to sell my house. However, it's definitely sunk. I think the term is "settled." You can definitely feel the slope when in the house. Will it get worse? Is it worth it to repair the the foundation before putting it on the market?

I want to do the right thing and not swindle someone like my family got swindling purchasing this sunken house.

Thanks in advance.

I would like to hang some crown molding but have never done it before. I would like to use a table saw but do not know what angles to cut and how to measure and so forth. Or is it best to pay someone who knows what they are doing?

I heard from an older man that when the ears start pointing down then it is time to pick. He called it " dropping ears".

Recently had a house built...and the garage is insulated and drywalled, but not painted. I was told that if I did not put at least one coat of paint of the drywall, that eventually it would warp and sag. Is this true?

we were told that our salt level (total dissolved solids) in our chlorine pool was rediculously high. apparently we have to empty our pool and refill it because the water is "old" (compliments of the previous homeowner!)
anyone head of this, or know what else we can do in the mean time to decrease the salt level (TDS)? we cant empty the pool until the air temp is below 80 (we're in arizona and that wont be till october!)
