I used a pyrex to cook some chips in the oven (classy) and there is now a film of burnt on grease. How can I get it off? Have tried soda crystals and washing up liquid.

Baking soda seriously wouldn't work? Like baking soda and scrubbing? Baking soda has taken off nearly all nasty burnt-on greasy crap known to man for me.

buy yourself some oven cleaner. Preheat the oven to the temp stated on the can. Once preheated, place your dish in the oven for about 10 minutes. Using oven mits, remove the dish and place it in your kitchen sink or outside on the ground. Spray the oven cleaner all over it while it's still hot and let it set for about 20 minutes. It'll wipe off like a beauty. This will also work with stainless steel. THIS WILL NOT WORK WITH ALUMINIUM

I do this treament a couple times a year for my glass bakeware. put them all in a heavy duty trash bag and spray them down with oven cleaner. after a couple of hours rinse the cleaner off and wash in hot, soapy water. wear gloves. cheap and easy way. we eat a lot of baked mac and cheese and scalloped potatoes.

Try oven cleaner; since it's Pyrex, you should be able to spray on the cleaner and then heat it up in the oven (NOT on the stovetop) to let it do its job.

Some of that is going to occur when you cook. Have you ever seen old pans? It actually helps prevent sticking. I wouldn't waste my time getting it out. Just make sure its clean.
