It is a flat I live in and my hall has no windows so the only light it gets is if a door to another room is opened. I have a red carpet down and would like to know some ideas for colours to help brighten it up a bit. Any other ideas would be great too.

I uread somewhere ages ago that there are certain plants that are more susceptible to pests, etc. when planted next to the wrong plants. or whatever the reason was. can anyone elaborate on this and then tell me what to plant alongside which plants. I've currently got seeds for lilies, gladioli(sp) (basically I love bulbs and all large vibrant blooms) and roses already planted on their own.
also whats the best shrub to go with them? thanks

I'm wondering though...typically is it my responsibility to remove all the furniture from whatever room they are currently doing....or part of their job. Just wondering so theres no confusion and everthings ready to go.

I am just curious as to what the correct way to tilt the push mower is when changing the blade. I have tried all way's, and it alway's seems to hard start, and blow oil everywhere out the muffler when it starts up after tilting it for awhile.

Every time I flush a toilet in my house as soon as it's done filling and the water shuts off my refrigerator makes a loud clunking sound. My fridge is hooked up to an ice maker so I assume it has something to do with the water pressure.
Any suggestions?

I have a pre-cast concrete fountain/bird bath. It leaks badly. Can someone tell me how to repair it? It's beautiful and I love watching the birds at it, but I haven't a clue as to how to fix it.

I know their more efficent than the standard washer. But how exactly do they get your clothes clean. It just looks like the clothes are spinning around. But there's no agitation.

Please give a scientific answer, if possible.

We are building a new home and are planning on laying porcelain tiles in the majority of the living areas. can anyone offer advice about cutting these tiles? we understand that they need to be cut using a wet saw however we had a play on the weekend and they tended to chip on the edges. is there a special blade for porcelain? any help or suggestions would be much appreciated. thanks.

I recently bought a "assorted houseplant". It was so unusual
looking, I had to buy it, but it didn't give me any indication on the pot as to what type of plant it is.
It came in about a 6" pot and it looks like long green spears/spikes....could be a succulant. I call it a Green Bean plant, lol....I have looked on the internet and am not having any luck. The points of the spears are very sharp.
The taller spears are about 1' 6" some are a bit shorter.
It would be nice when they're selling plants, they'd label them,lol...

I have no idea what this flower is called but it grows in some sort of a tree-shrub way. It has a very strong pleasant fragrance.

The rope won't retract. The spring seems to have come loose from the mechanism. I did fix it and it worked for 2 years, but I don't think I did it the right way, because it was a little quirky and had to finnesse it. The real hassle was that when I get down to it, I have to take off the gas tank and I then had to mess with the carb...... It took a lot longer than it should have. Any tips? I do have the expanded diagams for everything BUT the engine*^#.

About 6 years ago was when i got an addition to my house and got my own room. It had peach-colored walls and all my old furniture. I need a change!!! I have a rectangular room with 2 windows on 2 of the walls and a closet on another wall.

My room isnt huge but it isn't small either. I have a computer, a full-sized bed, a tv, a vanity, and a little like 1 person couch thing I would like in here. I want to get a happy look to it but I want it to feel like a teenager's room because I am a teenager!! If it was somewhat unique it would also make me happy.

Anybody have any suggestions about where I could put furniture or what color i could paint my walls and what decorations I can do? I like being a teenager and I'd like my room to look that was... not the way it was when I was 8.

What kind of drill bit should I use? I checked local hardware shops found stone drill bits and a 3 pronged drill bit. Can I connect this to a power drill or do I have to use a manual drill?

I'm trying to make my livingroom look a little more like...well...someone lives there. I only have one chair and some shelves, desk, etc. What I'm wondering is if anyone has any cheap, do-it-yourself furniture ideas. Especially seating and whatnot. I was going to just throw down a whole bunch of big pillows but I thought I'd see if anyone had any other ideas. (cheap ideas)
