About 6 years ago was when i got an addition to my house and got my own room. It had peach-colored walls and all my old furniture. I need a change!!! I have a rectangular room with 2 windows on 2 of the walls and a closet on another wall.

My room isnt huge but it isn't small either. I have a computer, a full-sized bed, a tv, a vanity, and a little like 1 person couch thing I would like in here. I want to get a happy look to it but I want it to feel like a teenager's room because I am a teenager!! If it was somewhat unique it would also make me happy.

Anybody have any suggestions about where I could put furniture or what color i could paint my walls and what decorations I can do? I like being a teenager and I'd like my room to look that was... not the way it was when I was 8.

1] pick your 2-3 favorite colors
2] paint the walls color # 1, and the trim, windows, and doors the second color. You could pick these colors from a print you already have, like a bedspread, or a new one you purchase for the project
3] try putting the vanity at a 45 degree angle to one or both window walls, the bed at 45 degrees in another corner, and the couch in another, if you have the room.
4] I suggest purchasing some graph paper, making a scale
model of the room and cutouts of all the furniture, so you can try different arrangements. [ save them in a ziplock bag for the next time you want to rearrange furniture.]
5] What are your passions? Music - you could frame your favorite music album/CD covers and do some lyrics or score on the walls; fashion - frame some of your favorite designs; skiing - frame some posters from favorite slopes, skipass,
skis on wall; friends - pix of them in various settings as well as souveniers from dances, class projects, activities you do together, etc.
6] add some accessories in one or both of your colors - lamps, shades, vase, candles, ornaments, trash can
7] suggest you keep all frames similar, for instance, all walnut or oak, all brass or silver, all green or pink - it will be easier to rearrange them later.

You should paint the walls a color that would flow with all the other colors in your other rooms. Just go with a lighter color, because dark colors make small rooms look even smaller.

I recently just redid my room to be more like a teenager's. I used suggestions from the Pottery Barn Teen magazines and I got some furniture from IKEA and Pier 1 Imports. The design all depends on your likes and dislikes.

ithink that you need to paint the room a light purple color and get new curtains and maybe a hip rug with some bright colors in it and think about down sizing the bed. that will give you more room. just add throw pillows in funky colors to add a splash. maybe get a cool lamp to.
