I recently bought a "assorted houseplant". It was so unusual
looking, I had to buy it, but it didn't give me any indication on the pot as to what type of plant it is.
It came in about a 6" pot and it looks like long green spears/spikes....could be a succulant. I call it a Green Bean plant, lol....I have looked on the internet and am not having any luck. The points of the spears are very sharp.
The taller spears are about 1' 6" some are a bit shorter.
It would be nice when they're selling plants, they'd label them,lol...

It's not that last one you mentioned...the snake plant. Its very hard spears, not like leaves at all.
Just hard spears that stick up out of the dirt.
With pointy sharp tips.

My guess is a Sansevieria trifasciata or Snake plant. Does it have markings or bandings across the spikes. Or a gold margin edging the leaves?

This is a commonly grown easy to care for plant.

Sounds like it seems to be some kind of cactus. Without a picture it is hard to determine what kind of a plant you bought! You could take it back to the store where you bought it and ask one of the clerks..Maybe they can help you!
