I am just curious as to what the correct way to tilt the push mower is when changing the blade. I have tried all way's, and it alway's seems to hard start, and blow oil everywhere out the muffler when it starts up after tilting it for awhile.

If you have to turn the mower on its side, turn so that the carburetor it up! Oil in the carb can cause a lot of problems. If you can tilt it back and put something on the handle to hold it down, that is the best.

Good luck

you could stay away from all of this without even having to tilt the mower over, only get 2 chairs and set it up between them, then lay down under the mower and do in spite of you're able to desire to do with the blade.

Disconnect the sparkplug wire and tip it aircleaner up. If you have to tip it completly on it's side, I would drain the oil. Most blades can be removed by tiping the mower a bit and reaching under with the wrench. Don't forget the sparkplug wire.

I tilt mine where the piston is in the up position, otherwise the oil will get into the cylinder and seep past the rings and into the combustion chamber causing exactly what you describe. ...Good Luck...

check with your owners manual, but i think you need to drain the oil first.... besides it is a good time to change the oil anyway, replace the blade then refil with new oil....that should help prevent the spewage of oil....good luck..
