if you have mites it's more than likely they will be biting you

That sounds like an infestation of 'silver fish'. I'm afraid I don't know their scientific name but although harmless they are a pest. They normally thrive in damp warm conditions like bathrooms. I'd use an insect spray first which you can buy from any DIY store or garden store and try and locate where they are nesting and spray thoroughly. Be patient , you may need to re-apply every so often.

Sounds like silverfish. Pain in the rear. I had them when I gutted my kitchen and just bleached the whole lot of them!

I have sent you a link from pest control and it shows a couple of pictures, if they are silverfish you can buy a can of silverfish killer stuff off them and that will cure your problems.
Good look.

have you a dyson? or could you borrow one, gut the house and give it good hoover, (not saying your dirty) but those hoovers can pick everything up, if its silverfish they like damp cold areas so work on that.

I think you should try bug bombing your place before you leave for work one day to start. If this doesn't work, consult an exterminator.
