My husband and I have an apartment in Hawaii. And, included with that is a huge ant and roach problem. We seem to get ants in our bathroom and roaches in our kitchen no matter how clean we keep the place.

Unfortunately, I've been told that it's "part of life in Hawaii", and I presume it's because noone really cares to take care of the pests. The roaches are about an inch long. The ants are "ghost ants", are very tiny, and supposedly love water (though I rarely see them near any to be honest). We can't keep spraying RAID because by the time we've thoroughly stopped them, we're getting sick from the smell, and exterminators push our wallets a little farther than they can go. What's a good solution for at least deterring ants and roaches using our home as a pit stop between uncaring persons? There are no children to worry about in this instance - just two adults not wanting to feel like animals in a cave.

They are a good 50 or 60 feet apart, and are both blooming bright blue. I would like one to be the pretty pink color i have seen, but don't know whether to increase or decrease the pH of the soil or how to go about so that the plant doesn't die of shock.

I have seen before where people make a planter out of a fish tank by putting some sand and cactus plants in it---is there a proper way to build a "mini bio-dome" like this (so to speak) if so I'm interested in learning how
any links to sites on how to grow cactus or on how to build a mini bio-dome would be greatly appreciated!

How can I fix my garden hose handle?
Pistol style garden hose handle broken, water flows out at full force regardless of whether trigger is squeezed or not.
Pic of broken garden hose handle http://tinyurl.com/33eqqk

Further, trigger does not push itself back into place when depressed. The "rod" that is in the horizontal top part of hanlde sticking out of end connecting to top part of "trigger" feels unnaturally loose, like it should be connected to something but isn't.

I think I broke this handle today just twisting on the nub at the end of the rod, right where it connects to trigger, thinking I would be changing the amount of spray or stream coming out of handle. Instead it seems I broke it, and connot figure out how to fix it. Cannot find any online resource. Manufacturer is "Agralab" but does not have webpage.

Please help, how can I fix my garden hose handle? Thank you

I've heard that Santa Fe Homes require more upkeep than a traditional home? Is this true? How much more would one cost than the other? I heard the roof is especially an issue on a Santa Fe? Any comments would be appreciated! Also, Standard Pacific would be building it so any comments on the builders themselves would be great!

Thanks!

I killed a black widow spider that had spun a web in front of my door yesterday, it had spun a web, but I don't think I saw any eggs, there were lots of small black things in the web (nats maybe?). I am terified of spiders and what I am trying to find out if I should have the house sprayed. If I have one does it mean their could be an infestation? I found it outside, so I know that doesn't necessarily mean that we have them in the house, but there are lots of bushes by the front door where I found it.
