I'm sure those plastic stickers (with the price codes on them) can't be good for soil, but how bad do you think they are for plants growing in soil with them?

Thanks!

Do you have to get up on the roof every year in order to turn on the swamp cooler? Can't you just hook up one of the hoses down by the water heater and turn on the water?

In Southeast Colorado the easiest grass to maintain is Bermuda, however this creates a problem because the Bermuda grass creeps like a ground covering weed. It's great if you're trying to build a yard with no stickers, not so great if you have an area that you want to be grass free.

We have a private patio in our condo but the entrance to the patio has a barred iron gate that everyone can see through when they walk by. (The rest of the patio is surrounded by a tall solid wooden fence) I want to make it more private by covering the gate with something. It needs to look nice though. Ideas?

I'm not very handy (yet) but I think that I can do this. My house is 87 years old and is not level towards the front. Because of this my window and door frames appear crooked, especially on the sides of the house. I'm assuming that I can place a jack under the house in the dirt crawl space and slowly lift the house up in the problem areas (slowly = 1/4 inch per day)? Is there a certain type of jack which I should plan on using and any advice in general for me? I'm getting the impression that this will be a trial and error project and not an exact science. I do plan to insulate it as well, I live in Buffalo and that floor gets very cold and I lose lots of heat. Any tips on how I may want to insulate down there? Should 1 be done before the other? Thank you for any help.

I recently picked up a Honda Harmony II lawnmower for free because the blade holder was bent preventing the blade form mounting properly, causing a lot of noise and vibration. Does anyone know what involved in removing and replacing a blade holder?

I'm looking at purchasing a home that is 1200 square feet. It is gutted down to the studs. How much might it cost to do drywall on the home if I did it myself? And what about if I hired a general contractor? I'm just looking for a ballpark figure, any contributions will help. Thanks a lot
