You can try filling it up with water and dropping in 3or4 denture cleaners and let it sit for a couple of hours... or combine a paste of lemon juice and baking soda with a little water and use it as a scrub to remove the stains... Good Luck

I've had pretty good luck filling the crock with water, adding a 1/4 cup of vinegar and then turning the crock on high for several hours (be sure to be home - and don't mix vinegar with anything else but water).

Not too sure about the stains but from now on try using an oven bag, line the crock pot with it so when youre done you can just toss it!!

Try filling it with hot water and liquid dish detergent. Let it soak for a day. Then see if the stains are still there. If they are looking softer try scraping them with a plastic 3M sponge to get them off.
If that doesn't do it try getting that stain remover they sell for cleaning electric coffee pots. If they are still there and are not just discoloring then try a single edge razor blade for scraping them off. If they are discoloration try putting bleach on them (undiluted) and then letting the pot stay untouched for a day for it to work on the stains.

It is ceramic. Try a paste of baking soda and water, or vinegar. I've heard that denture tablets work well too. When all else fails, bleach the sucker. Good luck.
