OK, I dont know if its mold, i just thought that since its slightly green. Believe me, these are NOT CHEAP glasses!!
Also, i do take them in to be cleaned, but i was just wondering if there is something i can do instead.

it is a chemical reaction between the pads on your glasses and the pH of your skin. You sweat more in the summer, so the reaction is more noticeable.
You can try putting a dab of clear nail polish on you nose pads to make a barrier, or get the pads replaced at the optometrists to a different material for summer

Glasses Nose Pad

I've had this problem before, and this is what I did:

I used a highly concentrated glass cleaner-- the one I used is called Touch of Purple. But I am sure you can use anything-- like Windex.

1. Open the bottle of glass cleaner
2. Pour glass cleaner and warm water in a bowl (2 parts glass cleaner, 1 part water), or the basin of your bathroom sink (plug the sink).
3. Soak glasses in water for 20 minutes, or longer if necessary, to soften up the mold.
4. Swish the glasses before rinsing them with water from the faucet.
5. Repeat until the mold is gone.

If this technique isn't working, then you may need to use a jewelry cleaning brush to get the mold off, after soaking the glasses.

Nosepiece For Glasses

Most likely whats happening is that you have a slight allergy to nickel. I work in optical and see this happen alot. Most peoples skin have high acidity or a slight nickel allergy. The best thing to do is go where you got your glasses and im sure they will replace your nose pads for you at no charge. Its good to change them every couple months so the oil doesnt cause you to break out. But dont use a toothbrush to clean them it will scratch your lenses.

This happens because the oils from your skin eat at the metal where the nosepads connect to the frame. Also, dirt and stuff that get on your face collect on the nose pads. It is a combination.

Tilex mold and mildew works great. Just let it soak in that plus some water for 20 mins or so

Just use a q-tip and a solution of 5 parts water to one part bleach. Dab it on. Let it sit for a few minutes then rinse well and with a soft cotton towel.

Soap and a little water on an old toothbrush. The plastic bristles won't scratch your lenses. Then just let it dry!
