There are quite alot of specialist nurseries that sell palms and other 'hardy' exotic plants. You can also grow most of them from seed, though this does add a few years, to get to the same height- it's much cheaper and adds alot of personal satisfaction though.
Cocos nucifera is the botanical name of the plant we normally refer to as the Coconut Palm.
You don't mention where you live, so I can't recommend a local grower to you.
USDA: 10-11 growing zones are required for this palm, and freezes of 26 tro 30 degrees F will damage and ultimately kill it.
I saw the following, from a web search:
http://www.growit.com/growers/CC15P1.htm
Palm: Green Maypan Coconut Palm
Cocos nucifera 'Green Maypan'
Bluebird Gardens, Inc. - Miami, FL 305-651-5252
If they're not local, I'd suggest searching on the plant name and your local city name. This is assuming that it will grow where you want it to, subject to temperatures etc.
If not, and you just wish to go see some, there are tons of exotic beaches around the world that are shadowed by cocunut palm trees. I'd like to be near one this summer!
Good luck! Rob

I think it depends on where you live. In SoCal, you can sometimes find them at Armstrong, Home Depot, and Lowes. Sometimes they're being sold as indoor houseplants. Look at the label and see if they are Cocos Nucifera, which is the standard Coconut Palm you see in the tropics with coconuts hanging off them.
They will grow in areas such as Southern California, but it's not the right climate for them to grow coconuts.

The coconut tree spreads its seeds by dropping them into the sea or on the beach. Eventually they wash up on another beach and take root. They normally live in the tropics. Coconut palms often lean in the direction of the sea so the nuts will reach the water more easily.
