Please excuse this simple question but I'd rather be safe than sorry. I've read the instructions a million times.......appliance must be grounded but I don' t know what that means!!! Under the dishwasher I see a black wire (hot), I see the white wire (Neutral) and the green ground wire is attached under the head of a screw to the appliance - does this mean its already grounded? So now I purchased a universal 3- Wire Dishwasher Power cord. Obviously white to white and black to black but the power cord has the green ground wire........where do I connect this to? Would I place it under the same screw where the other green wire is? I have no experience doing this. Please help before I get electrocuted! It seems simple enough but I'll wait for some advice.........and may be someone can clear up what hardwiring means?!?! Thanks in advance.

I have one of those memory foam pillows that can't be washed with water (and is really expensive to replace). I made the mistake of taking it when I was staying with someone who smoked, and now it reeks of cigarette smoke. Any ideas of how to get rid of it (I'm afraid that spraying it with Febreez may ruin it, since I'm pretty sure I'm not even supposed to get it wet).

My toilet bowl wont refill after I flush it. I have to open up the top of the toilet and press the lever down for it to refill so that I can flush. How do I fix this so I don't have to manually press the lever down each time?

It used to go away fairly quickly, but now its going on for a long time, easily an hour. And it sort of makes the floor vibrate in that bathroom. I think it is getting louder, I am convinced it is going to cause something to explode! No one else in the house seems to be worried about it, but it is not a healthy sound for plumbing to make. Only one toilet sets it off, so what is going on here? I am ready to start a betting pool on when its finally going to blow up, it sounds (and feels) that bad!

I have a rather big garden, I have a butterfly and hummingbird garden, a veggie garden, and my kids have their own garden, not to mention the 3 rose bushes that line the garage and random flowers and plants around the perimeter of the yard. I feel like I am wasting water. I set my sprinkler up in each area for 20 minutes, that is almost 2 hours of watering! I love my garden but I would like to conserve water. I cannot afford anything too expensive. Does anyone know of any easy yet practical ways to achieve proper watering while still conserving?

I recently planted about 500,000 wild flower seeds on a hill side (about 5 days ago). I thought that winter was over but now the weather channel is predicting about 2-4 inches of snow (IN APRIL)...will this kill the seeds and stop them from germinating? I am in South Western PA if that helps. The temperatures are going to be in the high 30s low 40s for that day and like 2 days after but will be going back up to the 50s and 60s after that. Is there anything I can do to stop them from being destroyed if infact this little snow storm will kill the,?
