My shower broke some time ago and I have been advised that my house needs re-wiring before it can be done. I don't have the money to do it. Is it possible I was told this so the contractor can make money out of me. I have not had a second opinon and am desperate for a shower as bath's take too long to run and I don't feel refreshed in the morning afterwards. They are okay if you want to relax though.

I had some potted roses for valentines day and i didn't think they would last longer than a fortnight because they need loads of TLC but 2 months later they're a foot higher and they are re-flowering! At the moment, they're sitting in my window where they can get loads of light and air, i water them often and I gave them some plant food after the first 4 weeks that I had them. I want to keep them but I'm worried that the pot they're in is getting too small, and I was thinking about transpalnting them to a bigger pot. How do i do this?
I've been on the interent but a lot of the know-hows are quite non-descript.

Please note that I really don't want to put them outside, since the soil is horrible and parched. Are there any keen gardners out there who can advise me?

I have a couple oak trees that blew down on my property and I would like to have them sawn into planks and make a table. I have two trunks, each about 20 inches wide and 10 feet long. Solid oak. Please don't suggest yellow pages. Looking for somebody in Los Angeles County or an adjoining county who has a portable sawmill. You can email me through Yahoo. Thanks.

I can't afford a tiller, and if I rent one I'm not sure I'd be done before it's due back. Is there another (cheaper) thing I could do to turn the topsoil so I can rake the weeds out and plant new grass? (Besides digging it up with a fork! I know at least one person was thinking it! lol)

I am having a house built in rural Idaho and want to have the look of a fireplace but the efficiency of a wood-burning stove. I don't want to pay for a big fancy chimney up the outside of the house. I just want to have the look of a fireplace inside. Is this possible (legal) and how?

Hi,

I'm trying to find a product - ideally not at massive expense.

In my mind its a "wall tidy". Sort of made in one-piece moulded plastic, with about 5 x 5 rows of deepish "cubby holes", and each cubby hole set in to it at a slightly sloped-in angle, in which I could store bits and pieces in each cubby hole, and have it hanging or screwed in to the wall of my garage.

Sort of a general organising thing which can be hung/screwed in to garage wall, for storing screws and bolts, tyre pressure gauge, car cleaning mit and towel.. odds and ends.. nothing overly heavy.

Any ideas of where I might be able to source something like this?

I know there are sort of professional type units but expensive and not ideal anyway.

Like this but more uniformed and deeper cubbyholes

Someone suggested I use Magic Bathroom Sealer Trim. A flexible plastic trim with adhesive backing. Sort of forms an L when affixed. Anything special to do if I use it. Must I remove existing, discolored caulk. If so, do I re-caulk before using the plastc trim. Anyone use it??? Any other way to form a waterproof seal without retiling the wall?

I have had a 3 year old bonsai tree since September and it did well until I went away for a few days around Christmas (supposedly a friend took care of it when they fed the cats). It hasn't been quite the same since, the leaves have started to black at the edges and fall off and most of the smaller branches are no longer green in the middle. I water it about 1/3 cup of water every other day or so, it's on a window so it has plenty of sunshine, I'm not sure what else to do. Is it indeed dying? Can I save it all? I'd hate to lose it, they're expensive to replace and was an anniversary gift for my wife...

OK, I was prepared for a little country sewer smell...I recently moved into a small house about 15 miles from town. It is a live in position that is free housing as a perk of my job. The property is 3 homesteads (my house idle for a while) bought up by the prev owner and we use them all, probably three different wells, etc, at any rate the other water systems don't smell like this.

MINE on the other hand has this horrible smell coming from the shower drain...honestly, it smells like someone pooped right in the shower stall. It is stinking up the whole house and there is no specific time that it's worse, such as before or after using it or when the water is or isn't running. The water itself doesn't stink or taste bad.

So is this what bacteria products like RidX are for?

HELP! My basement is flooding as we speak! There is about an inch of water everywhere. There are sub pumps, and my family is working diligently to stop it, but it's still coming in. I've looked throughout my basement and found that a good amount of water is coming from this one hole in the wall, about a half of an inch round.

If anybody knows how to clog a small hole with household items PLEASE ANSWER. The roads are flooded so we can't go to the store for anything, so we are going to have to use household stuff. Thank you so much!
