Try freezing the entire shirt, then pick off the gum, or rub the gum with an ice cube to freeze it, then pick the gum off. Ya gotta be quick before the gum gets soft again. If it is "gum" from the sticky side of a label or sticker, use peanut butter, just use a paper towel and take a glob of peanut butter, not too much! and rub it in swirls into the adhesive that you want to remove.

There is a product in the grocery store that looks like it was made in 1950. It is with the laundry soap & there are several varieties (one for cosmetics, ink, gum, etc...). It's a small bottle & I used a year or so ago & it worked great. The oil remedy is not good b/c it will stain, only good for gum in hair.

you can use an ice cube on the gum to harden it and then you may be able to carefully pick it off.
peanut butter works on gum stuck in hair..you should try a little in a test area of your shirt to make sure that won't give you a worse problem....I hope you can restore your shirt :)

You could maybe try freezing it and then pick it off? Or do the exact opposite and try heating it and picking it off?

you can try goo-gone, or goof-off, but you probably won't get it out enough that you can't tell it was there.
You shirt is probably shot. Sorry.
