interior or exterior. its pretty easy job either way. you measure the size of the window your putting in and cut a hole in the wall. be carefull you may have to re-route some wiring. You need to cut the hole with room to add a 2x4 header and footer. the studs are usually 12 or 16 inches on center so you will have to cut them out of course. if your talking about an interior window between room such as between the kitchen and dining room all you really need is either to finish the hole with drywall or you can use some molding to frame it in . an exterior window you will need to set the window in the hole and shim it to level it and then nail it in. the window will have the exterior framework on it so you push it in the hole from the outside, then frame it in on the inside.

That depends where you put it. You don't want to compromise the integrity of the structure of the building and any thing that might be behind or between the wall like electrical wires, pipes and so forth. I suggest hiring a licence and experienced carpenter or building person, because they know what can be done and knows what are the codes. You should contact a Government building inspector to find out what you can and can not do to a wall of your place. The reason is safety for everyone including you. Good luck on the project.

i need a bit of info , but here goes , if the wall is a partition and not supporting the house it makes it easier but not impossible, check for pipes wires etc in the wall before you cut into it. turn the power off. cut into the wall and check for wires ect . use a dry wall knife and don't cut any deeper than the drywall you don't want to cut wires, if everything is clear on on side cut out the other side. studs in the wall are probably 24" apart remove as few as possible , if the wall is supporting the house you need to build a temporary wall for support before removing any of the studs. once you have support cut out the studs for the window opening.
the opening needs to be bigger than the window. try hammerzone .com
