I have two huge (2'+ tall and wide, with 4' flower stalks) yellow iris plants along my walkway, but I want to clear that space for some smaller plants so the area isn't so crowded. These irises are my mother-in-law's favorite flower and I would like to give her these plants, but I'm not sure how to transplant them. Anyone have any advice? Thanks in advance!

i have a plug in heater in my room that in order for it to turn on you have to press the power button. last night i went to bed and at 4 in the morning i woke up and my heater was on. i didn't turn it on before bed so i turned it off and sat up trying to figure out why it was on when all of a sudden about 20 min later it turned itself on again. i was so freaked out that i unpluged it and couldn't really fall back to sleep. could it have been a ghost otherwise i have no idea why it turned on. i rent an older house and sometimes my roommates and i wonder if its haunted.

about two months ago my cell phone at my house would take random pictures without me pressing a thing. could that be another sign.

please help and please have serious answers only because i'm really freaking out

A contractor pointed out that I have hail damage on my siding, and that my insurance will cover it. He will also negotiate with the insurance adjuster to work out a price for repairs (re-siding my entire house). But, the more I think about it, if the amount that the insurance will provide for the work is signifigant, I may tell the contractor to have a nice day and do the work myself. Using the extra money to buy windows. I just don't know if there is legal issues with doing this?

Outdoor outlet, 110 volts, 20 amps. The circuit is dedicated to a small hot tub. It draws 1500 watts intermittently for the heater and a few watts continually for the circulating pump. Outlet is regular outdoor type with a plastic cover, and GFI plug. One night I noticed power was off. One prong was charred, with plastic melted around it, and melted plastic in the outlet. Breaker on panel wasn't tripped. No evidence of a power surge anywhere else. Any ideas on what's going on and what I should do to correct would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Houyhnhnm

We cut down a couple of trees in our yard in the last few years and now have the stumps left. I have heard that you can drill some holes down into the stump and insert something that will basically make the stump rot out. Does anyone know if this is the case or any other way of getting rid of the stump with out digging it up, chopping out the roots and ripping the stump out?

The tree is likely less than 26 years old. We've lived here for 7 yrs. The first few years we had tons of shade & lots of seedling activity (small prickly sprouts) in our lawn. Last few years, not as much shade (tree seems to have thinned out), lots of acorn like nuts- no growth from them, but tons of crows. This year lots of freezes (unusal for our climate) no change in tree for spring- very brown & droopy. Not sure if I should trim or chop...

I have a Seven Son Flowering Tree that is just a little tiny thing. I thought I planted it in a safe spot and it's happy there (planted it late last summer), but today, my landscaper nicked a small branch off with his weed trimmer. I want to protect the plant from further damage by potting it until it gets bigger, which is probably what I should have done in the first place. Can I pot it now after it's been in the ground? Also, I know we are not out of the woods as far as freezes go and I know pots aren't as warm as ground, so I was thinking of bringing it inside at night for about the next month or so. What do you think? Is this a good plan? Thanks!
