my grandmother always used "polish tea" she filled a 5 gal bucket with water and added a couple of piles of cow poop and covered it. she would then water the base of the roses with this "tea'' once a month and she had the most beautiful roses. another cheap way to fertilize roses that I use is fish guts...yup...fish guts...lol I dig the fish pieces down into the soil close to the roots and water ....last year my roses were huge and had tons of buds....just my humble opinion.

the finest fertilizer for roses, is no fertilizer at all, but rather an ammendment of a product called Mushroom Compost. This product is unbelievable. if you cannot get this product, earthworm castings are fantastic also.

MiracleGro is great for all plants. Roses also love coffee grounds.
