I have an oil fired aga that runs 24/7 and which we cook on and which heats the hot water in the house.
Surely as the boiler heats the hot water i bath in, it can also heat the water thats in my radiators ??
Id shouldnt even use any more oil , should it?

Its a 2 oven and 2 hob AGA.

I would control the room temperature via radiator thermostats

Any problem with this.

It would be so much easier for me to do this, which is why I'm asking (yes I know you are supposed to be part-P certified).
If not, did it used to be permitted ?

I want to make a built in seat in my bedroom in a cornor of the room. The seat only needs to be 30 inches wide, and have a depth of 20 inches.

I want to make the top of the seat like a lid so that it opens on the top, almost like a chest. I want to hide a safe in it, and then make a decorative cushion for the top. Any suggestions on how to do this?

I have been searching DIY websites, but I am not finding much. Any help or suggestions would be great.

I much prefer the softer tone of incandescent bulbs, but I would like to save energy for environmental reasons as well as economy. The only energy-saving bulbs I have tried all emit a horrid white light, even when used with a coloured lampshade.

Just moved into a brand new house last week. My sister was doing laundry and the next time she went in to room of the furnace and heater, the carpet was wet. We had heavy heavy amounts of rain 2 days ago, and it's been pretty cold for the past three days. Would anyone have an idea what to do?

I was reading an old newspaper article dated about 1910 and it listed the color of a room as "ashes of roses." I love the sound of this but what color is it. A link to a website that shows this color would be great or just a good description would be helpful.

This has happened once before and somehow I managed to close it (no trick that I remember - just a fluke), but this time I can't. It happens when I open it too wide, and then it won't shut again. I've tried pushing and pulling from above and below, but it is stuck all the way at the top. I can hear the weights still moving around inside, so they are not stuck. I'm not sure what the problem is. Any ideas? Thanks!

We are moving house, and when we bought our washing machine we got it delivered... but looking at it now it seems incredibly heavy and scary, and I'm not looking forward to moving it down the stairs, lifting it up into a van, and then getting it up 2 more flights of stairs at the new place... will we just need a step trolley and some strong men, or would you suggest we try to get removalists? I'm just not sure exactly how heavy it is, and whether we will have problems...

Thanks!
