I bought the kirby for 1200.00 2 days ago, should I keep it? I was really impressed by the way it cleaned all the cat hair, but is there anything cheaper and better?

dyson animal. it has cyclone technology that helps the vaccum pick up more. also has a 5 year warranty for both belts (yes the dyson has 2 belts) and a lifetime warranty on the filter! you also get many floor tool attatchments. great machine for a fraction of the price of a kirby!

Ok no no no, if you want to spend money like that on a vacuum go with a Rainbow, it works far better. I used to work for Rainbow and when I did demos at poeples houses and they had a Kirby I always proved that the vacuum wasnt doing its job. Now I have a Dyson and it works great for less than half the price you just spent. Get rid of the Kirby soon!

Wow, I never knew they were that much. Yeah they are very durable and will last forever. My Mom still has one and it is 50 years old.

My question is that you can buy several new vacuums for that price. To me, they are way overpriced, and I wouldn't buy one for that reason.

I also sold them for about 2 weeks many years ago.
I would try and get my money back and cancel the deal. As good as they are, there are others out there that are at least one half less the price. The saleman will get 2-300 on the sale. good luck. They may give you a hard time on getting your money back, be firm. Cancel the check. You have 3 days to cancel I believe.

I got one last june. It is alright. Neat looking. Ya they came in with the 1350 then they will start throwing out the we will take a $100 off and give you $50 for your old vac. Luckily my salesman were young and I was able to start throwing back a few with them I jewed them down to $850. After researching it is really worth every bit of $5-600 not a penny more. Return it and buy a lawn tractor. The little filter gimmic they do on the mattress is impresive but I couldn't get them to do it with my old vacumn. Wonder Why? A $60 target special. Worked good for me.

The Kirby is a good vac just terribly overpriced. Consumers reports, several years ago, rated it no better than many other regular brands which were $600 or more cheaper. The Eurekas, Kenmores and other brands were rated just as good.

My Dyson Animal only cost $500 and it really sucks up the hair. I had a Kirby and I really didn't think it was that good.

that's the kind of vacuum cleaner we had where I worked. I still can't imagine what all the fuss was about ! It was o.k., but nothing spectacular. I really can't understand the high price. It was because of that vacuum cleaner, I will not buy one.
