I was reading an old newspaper article dated about 1910 and it listed the color of a room as "ashes of roses." I love the sound of this but what color is it. A link to a website that shows this color would be great or just a good description would be helpful.

I don't KNOW but what comes to mind is a pale dusty rose color.

sometimes the names of colors are just that, names . If 5 paint manufacturers had a color of that name they maybe unrelated in any way. names are the impression someone has when they see the color.

It sounds like dusty rose or perhaps mauve. I agree that it's a lovely description of a color!
