The plate covering the external vent of our cooker,has come away and a small bird has got in.We've seen fly in and out,so we think it must be nesting ,the noise it makes is off putting,to say the least.I'm also concerned to the damage it may cause to the air vent and the bird may get into the kitchen. Any humane ideas to evict our unwanted guest{s}

My daughter has really heavy clay soil and would like to know the best solution to try and overcome it.She loves working in the garden and encourages her under 5 yr olds to plant seeds for the vegatable garden.Is there any easy way to make it more workable please? It does also tend to get water logged in the lawn area.Is the only solution to this to dig up and lay drainage pipes underneath, if so would it be expensive as she is on her own and has to be conscious of expenditure. Thanks for any helpful answers..

I know the Hemlock plant is but is the tree also? If it is how bad? Would it kill you? Or a cat? Is it safe to plant in your garden?

Yesterday afternoon I had a quick bath and everything was fine. About an hour an a half later, my partner went to have a bath but the hot water suddenly stopped working. It was coming out ice cold. The heating stopped aswell. We bled the radiators and everything. There's also a little nozzle underneath that you turn to the right to get the 'needle' back into the 'green area' when it's at the correct pressure. We've reset it and even popped down the basement to make sure we haven't tripped a switch or anything. Nothing's working. Any other ideas on how to get the heating and hot water back on? It says Alpha HE BC33 on the front if that's any help.

Thanks

I tried snaking out the toilet but it didn't help. So, I'm not sure if I need a new toilet or if it's the line. Even the plumber doesn't seem to know. Any ideas?

As soon as I walk in the house, it smells so rank that I want to cry. Even guests don't want to come in. Could it be the air conditioning? (central air - I live in AZ) The house doesn't stink in the winter. Or could it be the rust in the toilet tank? The whole house smells - I'm not sure how to describe it. Could it be mold? I don't have a lot of money so if anyone could give me their best guess so I only have to call one repair company instead of having to call several to come and check out the house. Thanks so much.

As we all know Australia is in the middle of drought conditions and I would like to save more water where possible. Washing my hair in the shower wastes a lot of water. I have heard of a valve (or something like that) which can be attached to the showerhead so when you are lathering up you can turn the water off and when you turn it on again the water is the required temperature with no adjustments necessary. Does anyone know where I can get one of these things?

I'm not sure what type of tree it is. The trunk of the tree is turning black and spreading up. It has spread to the other tree in our front yard that's about 10 ft. away. Does anyone have any ideas as to what's wrong with it?

Not sure if this is why my tub is leaking but water is coming over my tub and when this happens it leaks under the tile and onto my basement floor. Shouldn't the floor be sealed well enough to keep this from leaking under the sub floor and onto the basement floor. I noticed that the tub is not sealed well adjoining the wall near the floor and tile but I still can't see how enough water could get under the floor to cause that much of a leak.
