I just had central AC installed. The weather has been nice and I haven't had a need for either the heat or the air, but 6 days after the AC was installed, I had to turn on the heat, which didn't work!! Now, the contractor, who was hired by one of the bigger chains, says that it isn't their fault, that my furnace was old anyway. Even though the sales guy that quoted me, told me he'd get the windows replaced before the furnace because the furnace worked just fine. Not to mention my doorbell doesn't work after they rewired everything. It just ticks me off that he is trying to pin this on the furnace and can't just say, yeah, we may have made a mistake. So, whats the likelihood of the furnace actually breaking at the exact time of installation of the AC? Because it worked just fine prior. Am I being unfair in placing blame on these guys or does something not sound right?
Thanks!
