I have a wall mounted reading light that has a two prong plug for a 110 volt receptacle. I want to cut off the plug and run the wire behind the wall and wire it to either a junction box or to an outlet. Can I do this? More info: it is a halogen lamp with a built in switch/dimmer.

My water heater is leaking water underneath. The heater guy isnt coming till tomorrow morning. I turned off the gas line and the heater itself just to be safe, but why hasnt the water stopped leaking? Its been like that all day, my garage is basically soaked, and not to mention lots of my things have been damaged. Will the leak end at some point??

I've found a townhome I am interested in buying and the only way to get to the second floor is up a spiral staircase. The second floor overlooks the living room below.

My fiance and I recently purchased our first home. It's a fixer upper. We are starting with the front yard which due to previous owners negligence is a disgrace. The patio had two giant cracks in the cement which I patched up. The next day the cement was cracked again right where I patched it up. What happened and how do I fix it?

I have a Ryobi table saw and want to know if there is any device which I can buy which will allow me to use my portable plunge router with the table saw? I'm thinking maybe some sort of guide which would slide down one of the mitre grooves in the table.

I thought it was just in the kitchen. so i changed all the bulbs in the kitchen, then happened in my bedroom, so i changed all the bulbs in there, so after about 40 bulbs in differant area's in the house, i decided to change ALL the bulbs in my house (roughly 80). now some of the new bulbs are burning out. Why does this keep happening? I live in an old two story house built in 1912. the basement was finished about 7 years ago and has all new wiring for down there. i thought it was because of the old wiring but the bulbs down there have been going out too. PLEASE, PLEASE help me. I'm in the dark on this one.

I have two sprinkler heads that have really high water pressure and another area on the same line has very low pressure. There is a history of pipe breakage but I think I blew all of the mud out. I have checked all of the head filters and they are clean. Could there be a rock in the pipe? If so, how can I isolate it?
