These are both good makes. I don't think you could go wrong with either one. Compare factory warranties for the main units and sometimes the fireboxes carry a longer warranty - then go with the longer of the two.

You are comparing apples to oragnes. You gave us a Lennox furnace number and a trane A/C number. What are you trying to accomplish? Are you saying that you are changing your furnace and A/C? Are you saying that you are installing a mismatched system? If you want an answer regaurding which equipment is better then give us all the information. The Lennox furnace # you gave us is a high efficiency 92% gas model. This is a good furnace but when you need repairs Lennox parts are typically 20-30% more expensive then any other brand out there and are less available. You can only get these parts from lennox. When you have repairs on a trane system you can typically get these parts from any wholesaler that deals with HVAC and are less expensive.
Personally I dont like trane. I am a service tech and I see all sorts of problems that they have. Although every equipment has their problems trane seems to have more than their share. Carrier, Payne or Bryant would be a better choice. Warranty options are better. Before you spend a bunch of money I would get a quote from a Carrier dealer. Explore all of your options before you make a decision.

I would go with a lennox
both are good furnaces and are fairly dependable
trane furnaces are not very service friendly and parts are expensive the choice is yours to make so consider the warranty form the contractor as well as the furnace its self

I agree with Kirk 100%. Let the warranty decide!
