What causes red flying ants? I live in an apt. in the NE and I had a huge infestation. The property mgr said?

another tenant had them recently too. There were suddenly tons of them but we sprayed and they're gone now. It got warm for a couple days now it's cold again!

I'm messy but not dirty. Do dishes in the sink cause these buggers?

Naw, it's just nature. They swarm like that when the weather warms up. It's nothing you did, you were just close to the nest when they went off.
