1. Silver/gray comforter: lavender or cornflower blue walls. White/purple or natural (stained near a raw wood color). If you like contrast, then yellow accents. If not, then pale pink accents.

2. Dark purple comforter: light gray walls (1 metallic silver accent wall). White or purple flooring. Silver, chrome and purple accents ( A tiny bit of sun yellow).

3. Dark Green comforter:
a. Oatmeal or wheat on the walls, (a single glaze application would be beautiful). wheat/oatmeal/red flooring. red accents.
b. pale pale yellow on the walls. mahogany red wood floors. red or orange accents.

I'd go with the dark purple comforter and paint your walls a sage green (no blue tints). You could get the same color green for accent pillows and it's easy to find decorations in that shade anywhere nowdays with shabby chic being in and sage looks great next to black so it would go with your furniture also. Id keep the floor a light-neutral color so the dark shades arn't overwhelming. If you hang any pictures use black frames and black shelving on the walls. Id stay away from the silver and dark green shades for your comforter if you have black bedroom furniture-it would be too plain and wouldn't have that "comfy" feeling to it. If you do decide to go with the silver comforter a darker shade of blue would look the best on your walls. Hope this helps!

Silver/gray and dark purple... use a very light blue wall color. Black furniture will pop against it, and it won't rival the comforter. So generally "cool" colors as opposed to warm. In accents, try navy throw pillows and white!

As for the dark green, go a completely different direction, try a coffee colored wall. May be dark though, so if you're looking for a lighter room try tan colored. I still like navy with the dark green, also taupe and deep reds. I'd avoid a red wall with a green comforter though, it borders on "holiday" decor.

Have fun!

I'm assuming that the colors of comforters you've suggested are colors that you like a lot so I'd say use all of those colors in the room.

I'd probably choose the purple or green comforter or one that has both in it. Use these colors along with silver for accessories, tablecloths on bedside tables, curtains, lampshades, candles, vase, etc. Both will add a lot of life to the room.

Put gray on the wall, I'd go with a med shade. I'd put a slightly lighter gray or bright white on the ceiling and trim, depending on how much you want it to stand out. A technique that I love is to use a silver paint mixed with glaze and dry brush it on the wall over the gray. It adds awesome highlights and some texture to a flat surface. It really catches the light.

Don't be afraid to go a darker on the walls. It *does not* make a room small - everyone says this but it's not true. To much furniture and clutter makes a room look small. Check out a room from my favorite show, Get Color on HGTV. The walls are chocolate brown and the room doesn't look small at all.

with a silver/gray comforter and black furniture, you would need to bring in a little color or some light with maybe a wrought iron lamp. One of those tall ones, you know? Possibly also some reds.

Dark purple just try some crushed velvet accesories in the same color. Maybe some gold too.

Dark green stick in some lighter greens with it.

With all these dark colors, you want to find a way to bring in some light or bright colors, otherwise your room will be dull and dark.

Because your furniture is going to be black, think what color comforter will make the overall appearance look richer.

I would say the silver/gray would look stunning with black furniture. Bright white walls to give your room spaciousness. With black furniture, it will feel very close without something to offset the dark. Unless you have an extrordinarily large room, colored walls will not look professional or appealing in the long run.

Black, silver and white give you a basic color theme. Then you can add what is called a "shocker" color. Bright red would look great. Purple would nice also. Dark greens tends to make black furniture look cheap. A celery or jade green would be nicer combined with black or silver throw pillows. Plaids and strips with your color theme tend to make a room look rich also.

You didn't say whether the floor would be carpeted or wood. If you are going with carpeting, stay with the most neutral color you can. People do change their minds over time and want something different, but the carpet is usually there for a much longer time. A nice "champagne" color is always a good choice and goes with everything. Off white if you don't mind the cleaning. Purchase an area rug with your theme colors in it. Area rugs add a little coziness.

Pictures? Use a simple black frame to coincide with your furniture. Use a matting that will match your throw pillows on the bed. Once you decide what "shocker" color you want, stick with it. You will find the room as a flowing sense and a together appearance.

Lamps: try and find lamps that are not going to make the room smaller. Using black lamps with black furniture can be overwhelming and boring after awhile. Look toward a silver lamp with a "patina" finish. They are very warm and rich in appearance. You can also use crystal lamps which tend to be more formal. Pottery/ceramic based lamps (depending on the style of the furniture) tend to be more informal. Mod, traditional, Oriental?

Curtains: Keep them simple. White sheers with mini blinds under them would look nice and crisp, still give you light through them, but more importantly will not make your room smaller in size visually.

Think visual when you start to decorate. What is appealing to the eye. Think spacial. What will not make your room look like a 4x4 closet. I stress, while black furniture can be attractive, it notoriusly makes rooms small.

I suggest you go to a fabric store and pick up a variety of small samples of the colors you think you would like. Even a few you don't like. Solids and prints. Play with them for a few days in all types of natural and artificial lighting. Same with paint chips. Go to Wal Mart and take a few dozen paint chips home and place them around the room. Change them over the course of a day or two to different areas. See what really reaches out and grabs you.

With your furniture, I would stay away from dark greens, pinks, blues and yellows. I would lean toward off whites, reds, light jade and maybe purple. Purple is a beautiful color, but it is a tiring, heavy color. Also use caution with the type of fabrics you pick. Fabrics can make or break the overall finished appearance of your room.

I deal with fabric everyday....some of which costs me $400.00 a YARD. It is some of the best. So I tend to be a bit fussy about color schemes. Coordinating accessories with color themes, fabric contents, quality of fabric, paint, style of furniture can be overwhelming. So take your time and make choices you can live with AND enjoy.

Happy decorating. I hope it turns out to your expectations...:)

With Silver/Gray I would go with Garnet Walls with possibly a Chair rail or border or wains-coating to break it up a little I'd go with varying shades of hot pink to light pink accents- where it be throw pillows or lamps
With dark purple I'd go with a shade of green somewhere between olive and teal- you know blueish green. With accents in cream or Ivory
With a dark green comforter I 'd go with a different shade of green lighter but not traditional like maybe a lime, pea green or a mint that wasn't necessarily pastel. and go with fushia accents with that to really set things off and add some pizzaz either that or a salmon color which is kind of a peachey coral shade

Dark purple with light lavender walls and kiwi
green trim.

Forest green; Any other shade of green on the walls with a creamy white trim.

What I do is pick up some paint chips; say green, use one of the colors on the card for the walls and I have always like a lighter color on the trim. You can pick all colors needed off the same card.

If you have any colors in your comforter, try to pick one of them out of the comforter for the walls and then decide what you like for the trim. Off whites are good, but be careful cause they can show different casts.

B/c you have dark colors in your comforter and dark furniture, I really think that you should stick with a light neutral color for the walls.
