I have no water coming into my house from the underground water line that comes into my basement. I thought the water was froze in the underground pipe so i had a plumber come and try to unthaw the pipe. He put something like a welder clamp on at the meter and one on the pipe that comes into my basement and heated the pipe up for an hour and a half but it didnt unthaw the pipe. He also ran 30 feet of tubing up threw the pipe from my basement out towards the meter but didnt hit any ice or water. He stopped at this point and told me there wasnt much else he could do with it unless i wanted to keep paying him to heat up the pipe but he couldnt promise that it would come unthawed. He told me to wait until it warms up outside for it to unthaw. WHAT CAN I DO TO UNTHAW THE PIPE OR IF ITS PLUGGED WITH CALCIUM HOW DO I UNPLUG IT????

okay i am looking into buying a house, it is a new house but the people who lived in it before were dirty like had dogs and let them poop on the floor and stuff, i have not been in the house yet, but i know i can fix it up, like pull carpet up and redo tile in the kithen floor if i have to, i need ideas on how do get the dog poop smell out of the house for good, i hate when someone house smells funny, and i dont want mine too! the question is if i pull the carpet out of the living room and clean the rest off the house really really good, would the smell still be there if so what do i need to do to get it out?

I am remodeling and bought this peel-n-stick tile from Lowe's. The house is old and the hardwood floors are damaged in some places and stained with paint. We want to cover them so would this tile work? Will it stick or do we need to lay something else first? The space we are tiling is small and we were trying to go the cheapest route...Thanks in advance.

Please help. What will get an ink stain out of light colored, suede material (without bleeding the ink or bleaching the material)? Sofa stain, at least a few hours old.

I do not want any big changes. Do I just put up plastic sheets? The walls are not even.

My fiance and I just purchased a house and we will be moving in by the summer. We are now in the process of picking out colours for hardwood flooring, carpet (upstairs), kitchen cabinets, kitchen counter, ceramic tiles in the kitchen, front foyer, 3 bathrooms and the laundry room.
He thinks that the dark hardwood will make the rooms seem smaller (they are not small rooms) and wants to go with lighter colours with everything. I like dark hardwood and lighter tile with light kitchen cabinets.
Does that sound like it would look good?
I was also thinking of a black granite kitchen counter for contrast.
yes/no?

The wall of my mum's shed has been spraypainted. I've advised her to attach a trellis to it and plant some climbing roses. If i buy the 'Rosa Maigold' climbing rose in a 4litre pot (from crocus.co.uk) how long will it take until it starts to grow? Or does anyone have any better ideas for covering the shed - just on one of its four walls. Thank you.
