I think i left my iron on, its on the powder coated bit of metal on the side of the ironing board. will it be okay? more importantly will my house be okay?

yes it will be ok.. thats why the metal is there there is nothing for it to set fire to.. dont worry hunnyit will be fine

Depends on how long you will be gone. I have left mine on for 2 whole days and nothing happened. But then again I always buy cheap irons. The very next time I tried to use it, it died.

I would definately go home and turn it off, because it gets really hot and it's on a cloth surface...so it could catch fire and burn the whole house down and that wouldn't be verry good

most new iron have safety shut offs, if it left on for a certain amount of time it will shut it self off. if it is a newer one.
