Will an extra 100 watts on the motor make a noticable amount of difference?
Will 1kg off the weight make a whole lot of difference?

No it shouldn't make much difference either way. Either question will exert enough or take away enough load to notice a change in engine rpm or performance. More load on the correct engine application may actually break an engine in better, so it will run and perform better in the future. Often times people do not use their lawn mowers hard enough to break them in and that is as bad as overloading the engine.

it wont make a difference it the lawnmower has wheels on it/ the blade height makes the difference
