I am just learning to sew with a machine my aunt gave me. She gave me the needle for denim but I don't remember if there is a specific thread to use... Any helpful hints for a beginner would be great! Thanks! PS I'm not a child I am a 38 year old mother...not that it makes any difference I guess, I'm still a beginner! Thanks for your help!

I teach several dance classes and we are looking to install mirrors on one wall. the mirros will also serve as "decoration", to make the room (which happens to be our church social hall) look larger. i don't know where to get started really. any tips and/or info will be appreciated!

Our condo, built in the mid-70's has absolutely no architectural detail. The ceilings are at weird angles, so it makes adding crown molding impossible.
the rooms on HGTV look so full of character and yet, my place is a box. Any ideas?

I just realized how boring it is. I have 20 books on decorating, and have a creative flair-- for other people's homes. Where can I start adding color? Even my throw pillows are beige. Walls are beige. Any ideas?

These walls were previously papered so they do NOT have texture on them. Will that work with this paint? Do I need a primer if I am painting right onto drywall? And is it necessary to use the RL brushes and rollers?

I know that you need to plant the fringed and/or parrot tulips away from the normal tulips because they have a virus that causes that anomaly. My question is this: How far apart do you need to plant them from each variety?

Our home came with new cabinets in the kitchen, but no glass in the cabinets. I'd like to find the bubbled old "seeded" type of glass if possible. Where is the best place to look?
I have tried HomeDepot and they said it would be very difficult to order just the glass and they didn't know where to send us. Thanx to all who reply!!

My sister in law threw up all over my carpet. The carpet is a dark brown, but there's still a huge stain and it stinks horribly. I have used the carpet cleaner vaccuum-thingie with pine cleaner and fabric softener several times--I need help. This is in our new apartment in a room that I made special for my family to enjoy and now we cant even bare to walk past it. I've opened the windows for 2 days even and that hasnt helped the smell--it's horrific.

I have to unclog my insink garbage disposal. It runs but the water does not drain. I will use a plunger, if it does not work I will take apart the trap and clean it out.

I do not want to ruin my clothes while I am unclogging the disposal. What should I wear? Do guys wear jeans to unclog a in sink garbage disposal? What kind and color of jeans should I wear to fix my garbage disposal? Thank you for your help.

The water level in My so called extra large capacity tub will barely cover ONE set of queen size sheets on a large load setting. This is not under warranty. I have been using a cut off hose on the sink next to the waser to fill the tub. EVERY time I do laundry. There are NO LEAKS or anything else wrong. just the water level sucks.

All's you need is a old wash cloth and a very hot iron, I think steam setting works just as well as no steam. Keep appling until all wax is gone. Now if the wax is very thick use a flat razor and remove as much accessitive wax as possible. And literally that's the END OF THAT.

I live in Los Angeles. It has been in the 70's by day, 40's by night, with rainy season still to come. My roses keep trying to sprout new buds, even though I cut them all the way back in December - shouldn't they be dormant? Should I snap off the new growth or just let them be?
