1970's era condo has no detail?

Question

Our condo, built in the mid-70's has absolutely no architectural detail. The ceilings are at weird angles, so it makes adding crown molding impossible.
the rooms on HGTV look so full of character and yet, my place is a box. Any ideas?

Try using wainscot panel and chair rail molding.....Looks Great...
