What do you love? It could be a favorite painting, a favorite blouse, the pattern on a throw pillow or other fabric swatch, etc. Once you have your "inspiration" piece, go from there. Take the article with you to the home improvement store and match your paint colors, etc., to whatever you have picked out. If you start with something you love, and then match stuff to it, you will most likely end up with something you love, too!

Here is what i would do. For instance- In your living room- Find a main focal wall- A wall that is just the main wall. Then- Paint that wall a different color for example (Red, olive green, deep purple, or whatever color you like) Then, use colorful art to put on the wall. Add some colorful throw pillows, and a warm colorful rug. Also, adding candles everywhere would look very nice. Or, if there is a window that you would like to make stand out- You can buy a peel and stick stain sticker, and it looks just like a stained glass window. It automatically gives any room color!

Yes, the all beige does sound kind of boring. If you don't want to change the wall colors, use accents such as throws, pillows, pictures, knick knacks. Go with burgandy, dark browns, oranges. You can tie so many colors in with beige.
If you want to paint, go bolder. Try yellows for a bright sunny look, orange for bold cheerful look, pinks for a feminine look, green for a cool relaxing look; etc. You get the picture.
Good Luck and don't be afraid to use those colors!!!!!

Get some colorful art for your walls. Put up a border in your living room and get throw pillows and curtains that have some of the same colors in them. Keep the beige pillows and stagger them with the colorful ones. Get a colorful throw to drape over the back of your sofa, area rugs....just a few ideas for you.

Try aqua or turquoise accent pieces, with chocolate brown. If you want to make a large statement you may even try a cranberry color with chocolate brown. Leave as much Beige in the room as possible, then add chocolate Brown with a bright accent color. You may use it on items such as, Throw pillows, a vase, An area rug.

start in a bathroom. its a room that most visitors probably would not use all the time, and that you would only see occasionally. then you would get over your fear of color. or maybe your bedroom, thats another less traveled room. once you get over the fear, then your in the clear. always remember, you can always paint over it. it might take a few times, but it can be fixed. my aunt has a very very small bath in her laundry area, and she put this floral/paisley wall paper, huge design. i would never ever pick from the role, but it looks soo good. plus its marroon. anyway, earth tones are in now. think dark mustards/ reds/ blues/ and lighten the room with the pillows and deco's around the room. when we first painted our living room mustard 20 x 20 room. everyone said....wow yellow. but once i added leather furniture and light colored wood and pictures, everyone loves how it looks. so dont be afraid. look at the final picture.
