we want to cut our conifer trees down what time of the year is best? so we dont disturb the birds nesting?

Since you are cutting them all the way down, and don't have to consider the trees' survival, the sooner the better. Before the eggs are being laid.It seems you would disturb them less before the babies are getting ready to hatch. Still would disturb any nesting, though.

Weather permitting, anytime before spring (now) and the birds start to inspect nesting areas. Very thoughtful of you.
