If you would like something temporary, (till they grow up!) and that you could sell in the future for a profit, go to the lumber yard and buy as many hollow core doors as you need to zig-zag across the room. They come in different widths, but all are 80" high. Use two brass hinges on each door, spaced 18" from the top and botom and on opposite sides so they fold like an accordian.
If the girls don't like the temporary divider, and they promise to behave, then you can fold it up and store it. But, if they start fighting again,---back goes the divider!

Well, depending on the size of you ceilings the cheapest thing to do is purchase a divider wall that is premade. They sort of look like folding doors for a closet but they are used for walls and to give some rooms a seperate private area. That way, there will be some privacy (at least visual privacy) and you can remove it later.

too bad they each can't have their own room...it is part of the growing pains that come with the parenting/childhood phases. If you think you need to build something that is permanently stationary, I would suggest going ahead a build a frame for a wall and then cover it with drywall, spackle, then paint.
If it is something that can be removed later on, how about trying a partition that is portable and you can find a partition at most stores or even the flea markets will have one or two around their store...
but to build a permanent partition wall, try this site....you could search up information on how to build a wall from here...Good luck, hope this helps. =)

well u should measure out how long u want the wall .then u should go to your local lumber yard and get the correct number of twobyfours to get you then put 2by4 on floor nail it with 3/1/4inch nails u then place studs vertical each 16 inches apart you may need braces between each stud in random spots u .you then must get some sheetrock to make the wall part of the wall ,you also need tape and joint compound.can do this its easy and if u do it yourself it will be cheap toyou may read this and get a little confused so I will leave my e-mail so I can give u a step by step version if u want?rbrt_grunder@yahoo.com

For a temporary wall, try a furniture store that specializes in modular office furniture. They may have something use that will suite you and keep the little ones from being in each others faces and will also provide a place to display their art work, notes and so forth.

The cheapest way is to build it yourself. We just built non-permanent wall partitions for the new Habitat for Humanity offices and they look great. Everyone who came out to volunteer to do this was trained by volunteer crew leaders & we all learned about building basic walls. The best free training comes from when you do something for others.

One of the option is sliding room divider. You can use combination of permanent wall with embedded sliding door, heavy expandable curtain or set of the folding doors. This way you can have two rooms when needed or you can open divider and have one bigger room. Home Depot and Lowes both have variety of those folding options to match your decor and budget.
