need to find a supply of half inch to one inch female square drive sockets?

To get that you might have to special order a set like that. Snap-On has 1" drive sockets but to find that size 1/2" - 1" is going to be hard and if you do dig deep into your pockets......

Try auto parts stores, tool stores, pawn shops, or Snap On Tools.
