I have two sets of florescent lights that have one light that seems to burn out on them daily. They are a three light set up. One light in both of these seem to burn out on one side of the light. I am wondering if I need to replace the connector that the light itself connects to. Does anyone have any info that could be helpful.

I have a Kenmore self-cleaning oven, and I cannot open it. I was baking something, and pulled a lever that's supposed to be used for latching the door during a cleaning cycle. Now I can't open it!

I'm looking for tool sets, and I need to know which ones are decent. If I get an automotive set, I'd like it to have a full metric/SAE socket wrench set.

I had a plumber who came and installed a "burnout element" in my immersion heater but when he left the switch that the immersion heater is connected to, started to spark and smoke and nearly caused an electrical fire. He claims that he never touched the switch and that him changing the element, could not have caused the problems with the switch!

I have those 4 settings set for various times throughout the day, but what's the most efficient way for me to set the temps?

I had it at 70 degrees when I'm home and 62 degrees when I'm asleep or not home. My gas bill was still through the roof. A buddy of mine told me to not make such a drastic change in temps... Anyone have any really successful settings?

Thanks!

as I am limited with space in my flat, I after to place a small cupboard in front of the radiator. I thought if I place a sheet of silver foil behind the cupboard this will stop the cupboard from heating up and so hopefully the heat should rise upwards. Do you think this is possible?

Can I walk on the floor without falling through/disturbing the insulations? Also, I need to look for something that may be right on the wood and under the fiberglass. (or whatever that fluffy stuff is that looks like finely crumbled dryer lint). Is there any way that a live electric wire could be concealed by insulation? How do I dig around safely in all of that fluff without disturbing anything important?

I have tried pouring bleach and hot water down my drains, and even putting up those nasy fly ribbons! But they keep coming back! My mother has them too! Any suggestions?

This would be to stop draught and the noise of the chimney in windy nights. In my last house the privious owners stuck newspapers up the flue to stop the noise of the wind.
