I have tried pouring bleach and hot water down my drains, and even putting up those nasy fly ribbons! But they keep coming back! My mother has them too! Any suggestions?

Try to put lemon juice and pin sol down them. I don't know why it works, but it does.

I had them nasty things forever this fall. Bleach does not work. You need to keep fruit, bread, etc in the refridgerator to start. Keep your sinks clean of food, dishes, etc. I actually would spray bug killer down the drain. They also like to hang out in the garbage can, so I would spray that also. I still would have a few so I would spray them with windex and that would drop them and I would smash them with paper towels. It took awhile, but I finally got rid of them. I hope I dont get them next year. They are a pain. Good Luck!!!

Marten houses and bat boxes will clear the air in no time. We used to get our house covered in those love bugs (another gnat type thing) every season. No more. Just requires an annual house/box cleaning and keep fresh water out.

The best way to get rid of gnats is to get rid of the thing(s) that draw them.... i.e. fruits on a bowl in the kitchen... water or moisture around house plants.. Those are the main things that draw them.
