I am selling my house and a home inspector checked my Comfort Zone A/C. Everything is working like it should but the only thing he noticed is that the (digital) thermostat setting for the cooling can not be set to less than 70 degrees. I never noticed it because I never ran the A/C at less than 78 degrees. But because it is winter and the temperature inside the house was at 69 the only way we could run the A/C was by blowing hot air into the thermostat so the temperature will read 74 degrees and the compressor will start.
My question is, is this normal? Why does the manufacturer limits this setting to 70 degrees minimum?

My friends kid was trying to open a back to a toy (battery compartment) with a purple marker and kept missing, and purple wound up all over the arm of the sofa. Its light colored so the purple seems really deep. The sofa is a thick clothy textured material.

I have someone building an addition on my outside work shed. I have purchased all the materials. He wants to now take off for two weeks, and has presented me with a large bill. The walls and roof are framed, except no trusses yet, and there isn't any protection from the elements, as in roof decking or shingles. I am concerned about the untreated lumber being damaged by the elements. The slab had been placed there before I bought the property. I have two questions: First, what is a reasonable figure per square foot to charge for a shed addition, which will eventually include electricity and water? And, at this stage of completion, giving that I have purchased all of the materials, what is fair for me to pay him? Wouldn't the presentation of such a large figure suggest he didn't plan to return after the holidays?

Hello, I am getting ready to buy my first home (23 yrs old). It's a 2 bedroom 800 sq ft brick home with a full unfinished basement. I would like to put up a room, about 12x12 in the basement so I can bring in a roomate to help with the bills. I think I only need to put up two walls (using the corner of the basment for the other two walls). Any advice on how to go about starting this project, including cost, can I do it myself, what I may need, ect.... Thanks

My water takes forever to heat up, how can it make it so the water heats up faster and then gets hotter. I can put it on the hottest and stand in the shower, i think it should be a little hotter. This is a brand new house so the plumbing and everything is fine.

Well I decided I would put in a movie for my 3 year old daughter so I could go and take a shower. Well when I got done (10 min, including dress time) She had written on her nose, cheeks, fingers, arms, my tabletop, and the christmas placemats. I can't believe she passed up all those bright and non- perm. colors in the marker drawer, for a big black *Sanford, King size* Anyway, I have washed her with soap and water, and the tried a touch of alcohol wipes but it hasn't taken it all off of either her or the table. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Aaaaahhhh, children, arn't they just soooo cute?

It almost smells like either a dead animal or horrible trash, which of course I've changed all of them. Also, strangely, it is all over the house, not just in one area, which leads me to believe it's something in the air ducts. What should I do??

I know the common sense stuff like turn off the lights when you leave a room, turn the AC down at night. But what are other ways that are inexpensive to ensure that my light bill will be affordable every month. I just bought a house and I have found that it is insulated very well, so I don't have to worry about that, but are there other ways of keeping the cost of all of it down?

Interested initially for personal use, but also interested in knowing if this is worth pursuing as a business, land/space requirements, any other commercial needs. Any experienced insight (for either personal or commercial pursuit) would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
